Swarvy has become an integral and trusted part of the LA music community. He’s produced, recorded, mixed, or mastered numerous songs and projects for friends of the show. But I invited him on because his new solo project, “Sunny Days Blue,” is a magnificent accomplishment produced and performed almost entirely on his own.
A formally educated musician, multi-instrumentalist and engineer from Philadelphia, Swarvy moved to LA and immediately immersed himself into the scene. Over time he learned the value of being someone that could not only make a beat, but play every instrument on it, act as the recording engineer for a vocalist, mix the song, and master it. That wide-ranging ability is rarely found, and can easily be taken advantage of when the ultimate goal is just making good music.
“Sunny Days Blue” finds him utilizing every skillset he’s learned along the way, as well exposing his own emotional and vocal range. It’s truly a beautiful record, and has been a little slice of serenity for me during these unprecedented times.
